One thing is true: for over two decades, I've been chasing after the elusive, staying current with the relentless changes to SEO practices, marketing tools, tech/web updates, etcetera. And honestly for the most part, I've enjoyed it, as I really like learning and integrating advances in real time.
And perhaps I'm being hyperbolic and paranoid, but as I stated earlier about AI, we might be in our Golden Age, well, as far as the need for a person to fully actualize its potential.
But I can't help to think that in three years from now, much of my skill set will likely be significantly eroded. From onboarding, web building, AI assistants, copywriting, SEO research, custom graphics, and things I likely don't even know about, I see a system emerging that no organization is going to be able to resist.
Efficient, dedicated AI servants who work incredibly fast and have a high degree of accuracy is a dream come true for many, especially if they can replace an entire team of salaries. Personally, I know of three people who have lost their copywriting jobs to AI; with now just a single editor overseeing the bot.
Over the years, I recall seeing highly specialized people lose their careers because of software/tech advancements, which has led me to this point of deep consideration and speculation.
I've been Yoga certified since 2019, and the aim back then was never to teach full-time but to integrate the practice and tools for better health and stress management. But recently, I've seen a real need for a backup plan, which led me to the idea of combining my yoga background (which was founded on Hatha Yoga, Breathwork, and Meditation) with massage certificate to offer a holistic approach.
Having a life-long reputation for great hands, a few months ago, I decided it was time to take that more seriously in preparation for a future where I may no longer be needed. I hope that's not entirely true, as I love what I do, and frankly, I would hate to lose the Digital Marketing practice, but I try to learn from others' mistakes whenever possible.
But with that said, I am excited for a future where I can help others find relief from pain. I'll have to write a more detailed first-hand account of my physiological journey through the Hatha Yoga/Breathwork/Meditation program, but suffice it to say, it changed my life, and I was finally able to get relief from a lifelong chronic pain condition. Accompanied with therapeutic massage. I feel there's a real opportunity to help others achieve a new plateau of well-being. Let me outline my vision.
And who knows, if this venture proves successful, I may be on the winning side of all those AI updates I see coming. As a self-proprietor of a non-tech business might be the way to go in future where bots dominate the digital space. I can only hope the human touch and the human-to-human communion aren't replaced too quickly, or ever!
